Display storage unit with 5 drawers in Directoire style.

Storage unit / display cabinet / tall chest of drawers / vintage secretary sideboard with 5 drawers in Directoire / Louis XVI style. The piece is made of beech and poplar, featuring a combination of rich brown and warm honey tones with a varnished finish. The furniture rests on 4 legs, with the 2 front ones showcasing beautiful carved patterns typical of the style of the period (see photos). The piece has 5 fully functional and clean drawers. The top drawer features a beautifully carved design, complete with its 2 original brass pull knobs (see photos). It measures: l: 43 cm X d: 23 cm X h: 7 cm. The other 4 drawers have their original brass handles, designed like laurel crowns (see photos). They all measure: l: 43 cm X d: 23 cm X h: 11.5 cm. Above the drawers is a lovely display cabinet with a fixed shelf and a glass door framed in wood, also with its original brass handle. The door opens and closes properly. There are no cracks or chips on the glass. The overall dimensions of the compartment are: l: 51 cm (maximum) X d: 29.5 cm (maximum) X h: 33 cm. The shelf measures: l: 50 cm X d: 14 cm. The space above the shelf is approximately 16.5 to 18 cm, and the space below the shelf is just over 18 cm. The piece is in very good original and vintage condition with some slight marks, signs of age and previous use proportionate to the time, as well as a patina of time on the overall structure, the top, edges, side panels, inside the unit, drawers, and edges of the drawers. And the feet of the upper drawers (see photos). It has only been lightly oiled and waxed, respecting the original patina of time.
