Painted folk art bridal wardrobe

Beautiful antique bridal wardrobe made of pine. This wardrobe comes from southern Germany and dates from around 1850. The piece has been restored and repainted at some point, though not in the original style or with period craftsmanship. The colourful floral panels and the soft pink marbled painting throughout give the piece a very rustic and romantic look. The wardrobe is medium-sized and has shelves inside. The doors can be locked with a key. Light signs of use appropriate to its age are visible, but nothing exceptional. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a wedding gift to the couple. These pieces were later placed in a show room on the farm, which was only rarely used for special guests or occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. Despite the later painting, the wardrobe's appearance is not inferior to other examples, but is therefore attractively priced for the customer.
