Ceramic elephant, signed

This magnificent ceramic elephant will not go unnoticed, it could even become the centerpiece of your decoration in the living room, bedroom or veranda. It is large and sturdy enough to serve as a sofa end, bedside table, plant stand or even an occasional seat. Its colors are very beautiful, still very vivid and particularly the midnight blue of the elephant's body (midnight blue, off-white, caramel and blue-grey). It has its trunk upwards, which is said to bring luck into the home. It has a hollow signature under its base that I have not been able to attribute, and could be French-made in the 60s or 70s. It is in very good condition, which is quite rare for these ceramics: no cracks, no chips, not even chips, perhaps just very small and slight abrasions which are probably slight lacks of original glazing. I cleaned it carefully, with a brush in all the small reliefs (furrows delimiting different colors, dug with a knife by the ceramist), but there remains a coloring at the bottom of these reliefs which testify to the passage of time. It measures 42 cm in height, 55 cm in length (from the hind legs to the trunk) and approximately 25 cm in width. It weighs approximately 7 kg.
