Polychrome earthenware jug, Fes, Morocco

Artisanal ceramic jug or pitcher in polychrome glaze, Fès, Morocco. Traditional shape with a flattened body and two flat handles. Stylised floral decoration on the body, geometric grid on the handles, in shades of navy blue, green, yellow, carmine, and black on a grey/beige background. Rim edged in blue. Inscription at the base indicating the city of Fès. Probably mid-20th century. Chipped glaze on the rim of the neck and locally on the body (see photos).
