Antique mirror door (left) of a brown oak wardrobe with bevelled glass.
Mirror from an old wardrobe door, with an oak frame. The oak has a warm brown hue, with a mesh grain, and a waxed patina. Rectangular bevelled glass, framed by a fine moulding. On the right upright, a brass keyhole with a decorative ribbon knot, flowers, and scrolls. The back, closed with a wooden panel, protects the reverse of the glass. Likely French manufacture, late 19th or early 20th century. The mirrored wardrobe became popular in bourgeois interiors during the 19th century, and its doors, once separated from the furniture, are now suitable for use as a full-length mirror. This mirror can find its place in an entrance, a bedroom, or a dressing room, either leaning against a wall or fixed. The patinated oak and the old keyhole can suit a bohemian chic, classic, or wabi-sabi decor, as well as a more minimalist interior. Height: 1.33m, width: 47cm, depth: 3cm, weight: 11kg. Generally in good condition, with a marked patina, scratches, and old small insect holes on the frame, and a metal rod from the old hardware at the top. Glass with spots from the backing and small dark dots, not affecting the reflection. Pencil inscription on the back. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
