Tutankhamun table lamp, Ahura porcelain, white and gold, 1970s, Italian

This vintage table lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the patina of age. It is newly rewired and grounded, tested by an electrician and ready for use. It features the following new electrical components: a new brass lamp holder and new brass cover, an antique gold silk cable, a new white corded switch and a new white socket (UK plug up to 250v). This lamp can be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this luminaire in other countries with a bulb suitable for local electricity. This Egyptian-style lamp became popular and was produced in Europe from the late 1960s, following the King Tutankhamun exhibitions in Paris, France in 1967 and Brussels, Belgium in 1970. In northern Italy , prestigious porcelain and ceramic manufacturers such as sv Porcellane d`arte di sabadin vittorio, ronzan and ahura have made similar examples. Exquisitely hand painted and gilded, this vintage porcelain lamp is unique, with white as the base color. Although unsigned, it exhibits all of the design features and craftsmanship of similar examples of Ahura porcelain from Italy, the designer and maker attributed. Iconic and stylish, this lamp would be a sculptural addition to a range of interiors including art deco, Hollywood regency, 70s glamour, post-modern, traditional or contemporary. In the center is a porcelain base representing the death mask of Tutankhamun. Quality casting and attention to detail in the hand-painted gilding on the Nemes' headdress, face and beard, using real 24-karat gold. The emblematic cobra uraeus and vulture are present and continuously decorated all around. This vintage table lamp is in very good condition for its age. The porcelain sculpture is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The gold painted surfaces are in very good condition, with a light patina of age and tiny minor surface marks to the gilding consistent with age and wear. The vintage lampshade is in very good condition. The metal frame is healthy. The fabric is in good condition with no damage, cuts or stains, just a very slight p.
