Important Burgundy wardrobe from the Louis XIII period, made of walnut, featuring a powerful architecture and a remarkable geometric relief decoration. It opens at the front with two large doors, each divided into two heavily moulded panels. The upper panels are adorned with spectacular radiating diamond-point motifs, while the lower panels display a geometric decoration of diamonds and triangles in relief. The façade is framed by thick mouldings. The upper part is crowned with a significant moulded cornice with dentils, characteristic of the architectural vocabulary of the 17th century. The lower part opens with a wide drawer, equipped with two drop handles, and rests on ball feet. The interior offers substantial storage capacity with several levels of shelves. The back is made of panels assembled in a sturdy structure with crosspieces, reflecting traditional craftsmanship. Very beautiful presence and deep brown patina of the walnut, particularly highlighting the volumes of the sculpted decoration. An imposing regional French wardrobe, characteristic of 17th-century Burgundy furniture and the Louis XIII period. Period: 17th century – Louis XIII Origin: Burgundy, France. Material: Walnut. Condition: Generally good condition for its age, with wear, signs of use, and possible old restorations. Dimensions: Height: 228 cm. Width: 193 cm. Depth: 76 cm.
