Castle wardrobe from the Louis XIV period in oak and radiant walnut veneer.

Louis XIV period oak castle armoire, stripped, opening with two doors featuring three molded panels veneered with walnut in a radiating fluting around cut-out cartouches. Straight molded cornice, protruding base, pegged joints, and long cut iron lock entries, consistent with armoires from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The interior is fitted with a shelf. The stripping has lightened the oak and walnut; the veneer shows cracks, lifts, and some missing sections on the panels, to be restored according to the desired use.
