Golden and generous in its ornaments, this baroque mirror reflects the somewhat theatrical elegance of Louis XV style. Its frame, made of carved and stuccoed wood, is entirely covered in gold leaf, laid over a red undercoat that shows through in places, giving the whole piece the warmth typical of antique items. The motifs that animate it are characteristic of the rocaille repertoire: generous scrolls, acanthus leaves, a shell at the top of the frame, and asymmetrical curls that give the mirror its lively and charming character. It rests on small curved feet. A beautiful handcrafted piece from the 1950s in the Louis XV style, this mirror will naturally find its place in an interior that appreciates beautiful, slightly patinated things. The mirror is antique and dates from the 1950s. The gilding shows signs of age — some flaking, slight whitish areas, and minor losses here and there. The mirror is in good condition. 50 to 65 cm wide, 86 cm high, 4 cm deep. Visible in Colmar, delivery possible upon request.
