Designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, the "Variett" bookcase is one of the most recognisable examples of Swedish design from the 1960s. The structure combines teak with black lacquered uprights and details, creating a refined contrast that defines the character of the piece. The upper section, with a depth of 23.5 cm, is arranged with three open shelves, while the lower cabinet features two sliding doors concealing an interior shelf. The exposed frame, balanced proportions and clean lines reflect the pursuit of functionality and formal restraint that characterises Fridhagen's work for Bodafors.
