Edwardian walnut chair with a curved backrest and mother-of-pearl inlay in the Arts and Crafts style.

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely chair with a curved backrest, featuring a handmade walnut frame from England, inlaid with mother-of-pearl in the Arts & Crafts style. An aesthetic and decorative chair, well-crafted and highly ornate for its type, the sculpture is sublime from all angles; it appears quite subtle, but upon closer inspection, the details are endless. The three rails of the backrest are inlaid with mother-of-pearl, which I have never seen on this type of chair before. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished the chair from top to bottom; there will be normal signs of patina related to age due to honest use. Dimensions: Height 70.5 cm, Width 54 cm, Depth 43 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest points. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon. Please note that original vintage items and leather seating will always have a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear; we recommend regular waxing to prevent moisture loss. Additionally, hand-dyed leather is not recommended for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as it can dry out and fade.
