Vintage yellow and green earthenware melon-shaped pitcher – 1950s

Stunning majolica jug in the shape of a melon, with a ribbed curve and a glossy yellow and green gradient glaze, featuring a sculptural handle and an ornate spout. Its generous and dynamic design evokes the creations of major French manufacturers of the 1950s, such as Longchamp, who popularized this iconic model. A decorative and functional piece, both sculptural and radiant. No maker's mark or provenance indicated. In beautiful vintage condition, with no cracks but a small chip on the rim of the spout (see photos), very glossy. Length from spout to handle: 22 cm, height: 15 cm, diameter of the container: 12 cm, depth: 9 cm.
