Glazed stoneware teapot, beautifully crafted by hand, signed MJ underneath the base. The piece is appealing with its generous and balanced volumes: a slightly ovoid body, a short and well-shaped spout, and a thick handle providing a comfortable grip. The lid, particularly remarkable, is wide, domed, and superbly proportioned. Its central button, elongated and sculptural, gives it a strong and very elegant presence, adding an original and assertive stylistic signature to the whole. The celadon green glaze features subtle tonal variations, with deep and cloudy shades, typical of a well-mastered firing process. The surface reveals a slight network of fine cracks inside, characteristic of stoneware glazes, without compromising the piece's integrity. The unglazed interior retains a beautiful warm hue of the clay, punctuated by small firing spots, testifying to authentic artisanal craftsmanship. Signed MJ. In good vintage condition, with a very small discreet chip on the edge of the spout (see photos). Height with lid 20.5 cm, height without lid 13 cm, width with handle and spout 18 cm, diameter at widest point 11 cm, diameter of opening 8 cm. Approximately 60-70 cl. A sensitive and timeless piece, ideal for contemporary wabi-sabi decor, a minimalist interior, and a slow living lifestyle.
