Square vintage Space Age ashtray, Mid-Century, Vintage 70s

Superb square catch-all emblematic of the 1960s/1970s, right in the Space Age trend. This very graphic retro piece consists of a geometric alignment of 25 translucent bubble glass pebbles in multiple colors (blue, green, yellow, amber, red) embedded in a matte black background. The whole is mounted on a golden metal dish. Placed on a Scandinavian sideboard or in an entryway, this object beautifully captures light through the transparency of its glass pebbles. An ideal pop piece for collectors and fans of Mid-Century decor. Condition: Very good vintage condition. The glass pebbles are intact, with no chips or cracks. The black mortar is perfectly stable and does not crumble. The gilding under the dish shows its original patina related to time.
