Oil on isorel representing a countryside landscape by garrey charly (1891-1973). The work is signed at the bottom right, the artist is quoted (akoun). The pictorial although in its juice is in perfect condition no lack of generous paint, the burgundy color wood frame is in good condition as well as the golden marie-louise. My opinion a cleaning of the pictorial would restore all the initial shine. Dimensions of the work without frame 65x54 cm with frame: 72x60, 7 cm. Charley garry (august 5, 1891 – january 5, 1973) was a french painter and poster artist. He americanized his name after the first world war. After being trained at the école des beaux-arts in paris, he was a member of the société française des artistes and exhibited in many salons. He painted landscapes, still lifes and portraits, naked, of dancers of the opera or parisian cabarets. He was entrusted with a mission by the minister of colonies, and went to equatorial africa, a trip that inspired the theme of the decoration of the brasserie lipp, under the direction of joseph madeline (1925). He collaborated with the architect on many occasions, notably on the construction site of the faulquemont mine (1935).
