Antique solid wood sideboard, reimagined

Lavoisier said, "Nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed." Here's a perfect example. This former neoclassical-style solid wood sideboard has been transformed and reimagined as a low sideboard or small credenza with a decidedly contemporary look. It was sandblasted to reveal its beautiful natural wood and, above all, to highlight its carved motifs, then protected with a varnish and remounted on black metal legs. It features an interior shelf mounted on a rack. It retains its original gilt hardware. Its two glass doors lock. It would be perfect as a bar cabinet or china cabinet. It could also serve as a bookcase, a cabinet of curiosities... The combination of raw yet finely carved wood, gilt hardware, and black metal legs makes it a unique, authentic, and wonderfully retro-chic piece.
