Description
Enamelled stoneware dish by philippe dubuc. "philippe dubuc, born in 1947, discovered, like many others, pottery in a youth and culture center while the desire to become a painter had haunted him since childhood. Trained for three years in the workshop du cheval à l'envers with akira tanimoto, a japanese potter who came to paris, where he taught for a decade, before setting up his workshop in eure-et-loir in 1988. From then on, he focused on his work, exhibiting regularly.captivated by enameled stoneware, he found in the handling of enamels with a brush and the adoption of paraffin in reserve, a manner that belonged only to him. He played with refined and complex superpositions which led him to "a far eastern calligraphic writing with rhythmic patterns that he places on shapes constructed on the plate. This mosaic decoration reflects the cultures he loves: tibetan chromatism or kuba textiles. He has created a palette of sumptuous glazes which fulfills his desire as a painter. His work, as if unified by his passion for all the music of the world, results in a personal syncretism.".
