This mailbox is the first cast iron box placed by the administration to replace wooden mailboxes. It was manufactured by l. Delachanal in paris in the early twentieth century. On the front you have the inscription "postes", as well as the acronym rf for french republic. The mechanism resuming the lifting, the days as well as the lifts per day in enamelled sheet metal, is complete and in very good condition. The bottom appendage has been re-welded (see photos). The nickname of this box is "mougeotte" from the name of the secretary of state who promulgated the circular of commissioning of this box dated november 15, 1900.
