Here is an authentic vintage coat rack known as "parrot, " signed by Baumann, a French manufacturer founded in 1901 in Étupes (Doubs) by Émile Baumann, renowned for its mastery of bent wood, inspired by the famous Thonet technique. This piece is a classic of French bistro furniture from the 1950s to 1970s, now highly sought after. Made of solid bent and turned beech, it features a swivelling head with 6 elegantly curved hooks, resting on 4 curved legs ensuring excellent stability despite its height. The furniture is detachable in the centre, an ingenious detail typical of Baumann's design, originally intended to facilitate transport and storage in cafés and bistros. Its sculptural silhouette and imposing height make it a true statement piece, both functional and decorative. Its authenticity is confirmed by its original plaque "baumann FRANCE, " in a gold oval with black lettering, fixed directly to the wood - the characteristic signature of the manufacturer, an undeniable guarantee of authenticity in a market where many imitations circulate, replicating the Thonet/Baumann style without the original provenance. It is in exceptional condition: no restoration has been necessary, with only very slight signs of wear on the feet, barely visible, discreet witnesses of its great age rather than actual wear. Due to its size and appearance, it will naturally find its place in an entrance, hallway, or interior, where it will bring a timeless touch. Characteristics: Type: "parrot" coat rack. Dimensions: L: 59; W: 59; H: 180. Material: bent solid beech. Condition: all original, no restoration, exceptional condition - very slight signs of wear on the feet.
