Ceramic vase by Jean Laforgue – modernist geometric decor

Glazed ceramic vase with a swollen body and a narrow neck, decorated with an incised geometric pattern and glazed in black, olive green and white. The interior is glazed in bright yellow. The decoration, structured in triangles and rhythmic lines, evokes the abstract and graphic aesthetic of ceramic design of the 1950s and 60s. Signed Jean Laforgue under the base, a ceramist active in the 20th century, whose work is part of the artistic revival of French ceramics after the war, alongside the productions of Vallauris or the Basque Coast.
