Pair of Louis XVI style armchairs in carved and moulded beech, decorated with fluted grooves and connection cubes adorned with stylised floral motifs. Medallion backrest, encircled by finely moulded rattan, resting on slightly curved uprights. Set-back armrests, with inverted console supports, upholstered with arm caps. Wide and rounded seat, resting on four tapered and fluted legs, characteristic of the neoclassical vocabulary inherited from the 18th century. Upholstery covered in brocade silk with a polychrome floral design on a cream background, inspired by 18th-century fabrics. The decoration, composed of delicate floral scrolls, harmoniously dialogues with the geometric sobriety of the wooden structure. The reverse of the backrest features a central vertical rail ensuring the overall solidity, a typical element of 19th-century productions revisiting Louis XVI models. Period: 19th century - Dimensions: Height: 83 cm; Width: 58 cm; Depth: 59 cm - In good general condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with age. Joined with dowels. These armchairs testify to the enduring appeal of neoclassicism in the 19th century, where the elegance of lines, symmetry, and the finesse of decoration pay homage to the models of the reign of Louis XVI.
