Mid-century table lamp made of goat leather and wrought iron, Congo, 1950s. A very special and rare lamp made in Congo, Africa, in the mid-20th century. Brought back to Belgium by a doctor who worked there in the 1950s. Beautiful and very unusual design, both playful and elegant. Simple yet well-designed wrought iron frame with additional goat leather. The leather adds a very warm and welcoming look, whether lit or unlit. The age of the lamp is evident, but in a very graceful and pleasant way. An extremely original and rare piece.
