The Marocca model represents one of the most accomplished collaborations between Vico Magistretti and De Padova, a Milanese publisher renowned for its manufacturing standards. Designed in 1987, this chair takes inspiration from the classic bistro vocabulary — slatted backrest, tapered legs — and reinterprets it with the rigour characteristic of Milanese rationalism, of which Magistretti was a prominent figure. The contrast between the satin black lacquered solid beech structure and the aniline-dyed wooden seat in caramel tone gives the whole piece a discreet elegance, designed to last. Items from this period of Italian design have notably returned to the forefront in recent years, driven by a growing interest in De Padova's 1980s editions. The set of 4 chairs is in generally good condition, with a stable structure and no major defects noted.
