Magnificent pair of vintage chairs made from solid pine (or fir) with a distinctly brutalist and rustic-chic design, typical of the 1960s/1970s. With their robust silhouette and geometric lines, they fit perfectly into the trend of mountain and chalet furniture from that era. The seat is very original, featuring a circular indentation for comfort and divided into two planks by a central groove (a traditional carpentry detail allowing the wood to move). Superb craftsmanship on the backrest with cut crosspieces and side uprights ending in an elegant diamond-point finish (bevel). Solid wood with a very graphic grain and visible knots that give it all its character. Although these chairs do not bear a visible signature or stamp, their aesthetic and quality of craftsmanship strongly recall the creations and selections of Charlotte Perriand for the Arcs or Méribel resorts.
