Large Japanese lacquered box from 1850

Beautiful napoleon III style piece, in wood and cardboard, in reference to distant asia, much appreciated by madame, for storing gloves, handkerchiefs, veil on her dressing table. The engraving is in gold, lacquered using the quianzin method. The theme of matriarchy, with the mother watching over her daughters as the fisherman's boat passes, was very popular at that time. In very good condition, no shock.
