An oil painting on Canson depicting a Mediterranean landscape in Italy, signed at the bottom right by Lilly Véréa, located in Fiesole, Tuscany (near Florence), dated 1950. Simple presentation frame with a mount. Period: mid-20th century. Dimensions: framed 43x53 cm, visible 29x39 cm. Good condition. Reference adequantik 2605268. Elizabeth Verea Schneider, known as Lilly Véréa (20th century), was a Romanian-born painter active from the 1930s to the 1970s. She married the writer Édouard Schneider in 1936. Known for her marine paintings and illustrations, she notably created a portrait for the book "Europolis" in 1939. She also worked as a translator and within the French office of EMI International, a music publisher. Her works appear in the Art Market, notably on Artprice. This painting comes from the personal collection of Jean Bérard, Artistic Director of Pathé Marconi in the 1940s.
