Decorative or functional hollow plate for children. Handcrafted Belgian glazed stoneware, signed Dubois, potter for 13 generations in Bouffioulx, Charleroi region. Round, fairly deep shape with 5 notches, incised and glazed decoration in blue, brown, and beige with naive and symbolic iconography, depicting an infant swaddled in a cradle topped with a stylised flower of protective value, which could evoke a birth or baptism gift. 1950s - 60s. Incised signature "Dubois", model S.12. Very good condition. Diameter: 17 cm. Height: 4.5 cm. Weight: 695 g.
