Rustic Weathered Primitive Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet

This 18th-century painted folk art bridal cupboard was found in a farmhouse from 1792 in the Franconian Lake District, Bavaria, southern Germany, where it had been part of the interior for centuries. A relatively compact piece of furniture with a particularly authentic appearance, largely preserved in its original, characteristically worn painting in green, white, and soft red tones. Some old repairs testify to a long history of use, while the worn paint and beautiful patina give the cupboard a lived-in character. The original lock and matching key are still present. Later shelves have been added inside. Occasional traces of woodworm have been checked and treated. For conservation, the cupboard has been finished with a natural layer of beeswax, preserving the original painting and its authentic appearance.
