Poët-Laval 'Ondulé' vase in glazed ceramic, Poët Laval, France, mid-20th century. Like the famous Vallauris, Poët-Laval is a small village in the south of France known for its artisanal pottery. Located north of Montpellier and Marseille, this village has been recognised for its unique pottery art for many years. Many small workshops exist, and the pieces are often simply signed 'Poët Laval'. Our vase is also signed 'ondulé', which means 'wavy' in French. The decorative upper edge is very wavy and delicate, giving a very interesting look to this simple shape. The edge dances like a delicate flower and leaves an elegant impression. A true pleasure to behold. In summary, a very attractive and relatively large ceramic vase from a renowned French artisanal pottery village. In good vintage condition.
