Art Deco display cabinet in walnut and burl, marble top and bevelled mirror, 1930s.
Art Deco buffet or antique sideboard from the 1920s-1930s, resting on fluted spindle legs and featuring two glazed side columns framing a central section topped with a large bevelled mirror and a veined beige marble top. Made from a warm wood with rich amber tones, combining walnut and walnut burl veneer, it showcases remarkable cabinetmaking craftsmanship alongside elegant carved decorations of fruit baskets and floral motifs typical of its era. Its generous storage capacity — including glass shelves, lower compartments, a drawer, and a central cupboard — makes it an ideal centrepiece for displaying glassware, tableware, or collectibles in a characterful dining room or living room. Condition: The piece is sound, perfectly stable and functional, with doors and the drawer opening and closing correctly, and clean interior storage spaces complete with their shelves. The marble top, as well as the glazed parts and the mirror, are in very good condition, and the woodwork exhibits a superb patina of time, marked only by discreet superficial signs of use. These minimal signs of authenticity bear witness to its history while preserving its refined aesthetic and intact old-world charm.
