Godin heater dating from 1924, in green enamelled cast iron. This small auxiliary heater, with visible fire and openwork cast iron casing, is one of the first creations of the guise factory following the reconstruction of the factory, completed in 1924. The "chauffette" n° 299 consists of a sheet metal fireplace with refractory earth floor. It is lined externally with a green enamelled openwork cast iron envelope and columns. The loading door is hermetically sealed with screws and placed at the end and is equipped with a valve allowing the introduction of air into the hearth. On the front, a trunnion swing door provides access to the mica trim, which is protected by an interior vertical grille. On the top is normally arranged a pad for heating a hot water bottle. Its operation is very simple: the logs, placed horizontally on the chenêt burn over high or slow heat, depending on whether the opening of the valve is more or less large.
