Description
A table lamp designed by helena tynell for the german manufacturer limburg in the 1970s. Tynell is best known for its practical designs, made for large-scale production and everyday use. However, she herself was more interested in glass sculpture, experimenting with abstract forms, using both casting, blowing and other techniques. Her works are in the permanent collections of the design museum in helsinki, the nationalmuseum in stockholm and the corning museum of glass in the usa. Undoubtedly, helena's most famous projects are the aurinkopull vase or bubble lampshades for limburg lamps. It is impossible to pass by this lamp indifferently, together with the lampshade it measures nearly 80 cm! The base is made of chromed metal and two massive pieces of glass with tynell's signature motif. The lamp is very heavy and solidly made, with attention to detail. The lamp is in very good condition, the electrics have been reviewed, the glass has no damage. Dimensions: total height - 80 cm. Base height - 40 cm. Base width - 13 cm X 13 cm. Lampshade - 40 cm X 35 cm.
