Cartel clock in flower marquetry with base. "rocaille" style around 1890 height: 40 cm (16.14 inches), base 23 X 15 cm (9.06 X 6.3 inches) clock by the famous goldsmith and jeweler charles dubret (1847-1930) in dijon (burgundy - france ) at 83 rue de la liberté. Charles dubret is also the father of the very famous goldsmith sculptor henri dubret. Movement signed s. Marti & cie. Late 19th century. Samuel marti (1864-1914), watchmaker, worked with the famous de roux and japy frères. He received the bronze medal in 1860 and the silver medal in 1889. There are some gaps; the clock face glass is not present. The clock movement works but has not been serviced.
