Monumental pitcher / water jug in green glazed earthenware – HB Quimper, Art Deco period

Large earthenware jug in deep green enamel with a glossy finish, produced by the famous HB Quimper factory. Manufacturer's signature: marked under the base with a brush as HB Quimper. The spelling of the brand "HB" associated with the name of the town is characteristic of the productions from the Grande Maison pottery in the mid-20th century. This monochrome piece stems from the modernist shape research conducted by the HB Quimper factory in the 1930s–1940s, moving away from traditional Breton hand-painted decorations to favour line and solid enamel. Dimensions: height of 24 cm, diameter at the upper neck of 20 cm, total width (with handle) of 25 cm. Design & colour: the solid emerald green enamel highlights the geometry of the neck and the curvature of the handle. The double moulding on the grip ensures a very good hold despite the volume of the piece. Condition: very good vintage condition. Glossy enamel, without structural cracks.
