Elegant set of 6 antique ironstone soup plates from the Salins-les-Bains earthenware factory (Jura), designed by E.C. Salins for Édouard Charbonnier, director of the factory at the end of the 19th century. The “Les Épis” model features a frieze of stylized wheat in a deep blue on a delicately patinated ivory background. This refined, rustic design perfectly embodies the rustic and poetic aesthetic of Belle Époque tableware. Each plate features a beautiful, even patina, a natural crackle typical of ironstone, and a charming appearance. Stamped E.C. Salins Ironstone Les Epis: one plate is missing its stamp, and another has its stamp almost completely erased. Beautiful vintage condition – patinas and marks of age that do not affect its use or beauty, and a chip on the rim of one of the plates (see photos). Diameter 24.5 cm, height 2.5 cm. An exceptional set for lovers of antique tableware. I also have in my shop the six E.C. Salins Les Epis dinner plates, diameter 21 cm.
