A vintage set of 6 Model 77 dining chairs in teak and blue woven cord, designed by Niels Otto Møller for J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik and produced in Denmark, originally designed in 1959. With their sculptural teak frames, softly curved backrests, rounded legs and original deep blue woven cord upholstery, these Danish modern dining chairs are a refined example of mid-century Scandinavian craftsmanship and one of Møller’s most recognisable chair designs. Designer: Niels Otto Møller. Maker: J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik. Model: Model 77. Origin: Denmark. Period: 1960s. Style: Danish modern, Scandinavian modern, mid-century modern. The chairs are defined by their elegant open frames, gently rounded backrests and finely tapered legs that flow with a quiet sculptural rhythm. The warm teak grain contrasts beautifully with the deep blue woven cord seats, giving the set a calm but distinctive presence. The original woven textile cord is giving the seats a slightly more practical and cleanable finish while keeping the refined handwoven look associated with Danish modern seating. Designed by Niels Otto Møller in 1959, the Model 77 was produced by J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, the Danish furniture company founded by Møller himself. The design is known for its refined proportions, organic lines and handcrafted quality. It remains a highly sought-after Danish modern dining chair and a strong representation of Møller’s precise, quietly elegant design language. Condition. Good vintage condition with signs of age and use consistent with its period. The teak frames show light surface scratches, small marks, subtle colour variation and minor edge wear throughout. The blue woven cord seats are in good usable condition with light wear, small irregularities and natural variation in the woven surface.
