Pivoting column in Mahogany, Napoleon III style – 1900

Elegant Napoleon III style column made of solid mahogany, enhanced with rich finely chased bronze fittings. The shaft, in the form of a fluted column, features intricately crafted asparagus. The ornamentation is distinguished by sculpted laurel ribbons wrapped around the shaft. A wide frieze of ovolo running along the base adds a touch of majesty to the whole piece. The upper square and rotating top is made from sumptuous Aleppo Breccia marble, with warm veined tones that harmoniously contrast with the depth of the wood and the shine of the bronze. This column, both functional and decorative, embodies the refinement of 19th-century decorative arts, ideal for showcasing a sculpture or a precious vase. ******** Period: 1900.
