Antique soup tureen or vegetable dish in ironstone from the Longchamp pottery, "Daisies" polychrome model, very rare, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890-1910. Magnificent romantic Art Nouveau decor, bucolic, featuring daisies, foliage, grasses, and scrolls in dark pink transfer, delicately enhanced by hand with shades of fuchsia pink, mauve, nuanced green, yellow, and brown. The rim is slightly scalloped. Pretty handles and a lovely knob, with four small feet, the exterior is decorated while the interior is plain. It can serve as a bowl or salad dish without its lid. 30cm wide including handles, 21cm deep and wide without the handles, 11cm high with the feet and without the lid, 21-22cm maximum height with the lid. Very good overall condition for its age, with a small chip on one edge and discreet minor wear marks, some patina inside and out, and a few internal scratches. The lid has an imperfect fit with the tureen and may slightly slide to one side or the other, while still being held by the rim. This could be a manufacturing irregularity or a lid from a piece of the same model with very slightly different dimensions. Approximately 1.5-2kg.
