Bust of a male portrait in white marble, 19th century, second half, Second Empire or Third Republic bourgeois style. The subject represents a middle-aged man, with curly beard and finely sculpted moustache, wavy hair showing traces of gilding at the top. The sculpted attire includes a jacket with lapels and a cravat with precisely treated folds. The anatomical rendering is meticulous: ears, wrinkles, and solemn expression testify to a quality execution. The bust rests on a circular base of veined grey marble, which is itself placed on a dark wooden pedestal. Condition report: some localized losses in the beard, signs of wear on the marble surface, and a slight visible crack at the base. Surface cleaning is required. Sold as is. Dimensions: H. 60 cm – W. 35 cm – Weight: 60 kg. Transport is the responsibility of the buyer, excluding delivery.
