Card cabinet / file cabinet in mahogany – 20th century. Elegant antique card cabinet in mahogany, tall and narrow in shape, opening at the front with ten stacked drawers. Each drawer is fitted with two small circular brass pull knobs, featuring a concentric design. The front is framed by two straight moulded uprights, while the top is highlighted by an overhanging cornice with tiered mouldings. The whole piece rests on a solid plinth. An interesting feature is that the entire front is mounted on side hinges and can open like a door, while keeping the individual drawers independent. This ingenious design is characteristic of storage furniture intended for documents, archives, or collections.
