Lithograph by Henri Rivière At the Wind of Noroît - The Port

This lithograph “Au Vent de Noroît - La Neige” is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the bottom left corner. The lithograph is in good condition, the colours are perfect, but we note for the more particular some small ink lines and traces of creasing in the margin. There is a stain on the left at the foot of the fisherman on the litho. We have taken a maximum of photos of the defects so that you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for shadow theatre at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances by creating innovative coloured sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolour (he painted around a thousand watercolours).
