Sell a magnificent small rectangular ceramic tray/trinket dish from Vallauris dating from the late 1940s (guaranteed period between 1944 and 1948). Superb and poetic hand-painted decoration depicting a couple of young lovers, in the style of the famous illustrations by Raymond Peynet. Marking & Signature: The piece is doubly signed! It features the official embossed stamp "Cérenne" (the V in the C forming a profile of a face) under the base, the first stamp from the workshop used until 1948. Hand-signed on the back by the famous decorator of the workshop, Simone Humbert, and the painter Carole. Dimensions: 23 cm in length|15-16 cm in width. Condition: Good overall condition for its age. No major cracks. Note: slight signs of wear/micro-chips on the green rim of the border and small black marks in the white glaze (see photos), perfect witnesses to its artisanal production of the time.
