Poggenpohl kitchen set with a grey-blue mottled worktop, 1950s

A fully restored kitchen unit originally manufactured in Germany, featuring attractive contrasts between matt white, a black plinth and the blue-grey worktop framed in aluminium. The set derives its distinctive vintage charm from the rounded solid wood frames on the front of the units, as well as the edges of the doors and drawers. The upper and lower sections each consist of two cupboards, which can be joined together via four drill holes. The sides and fronts are made of chipboard with real wood frames; the plinth is made of softwood coated with linoleum; and the drawers are made of beech wood. The shelves have been newly made from blockboard, whilst the cabinet bases and back panels are the original beech plywood. The entire kitchen has been sanded down, given a slightly glossy clear varnish finish on the inside and a matt white finish on the outside. The handles and fittings are the original ones. Individual dimensions (WxDxH, incl. Handles): Base units: 100+50x59x87.5cm. Wall units: 100+50 X 39 X 65.5 cm. Worktop: 150 X 55 X 3.5 cm. The kitchen is supplied unassembled (4 units + worktop), so that it can be easily transported into any flat. Two mounting brackets are fitted to the back of each wall unit for wall mounting.
