Brutalist coffee table dating from the 50s and 60s, made from a thick slice of tree mounted on three solid legs of raw wood. The organic solid wood top has a natural shape that preserves the original silhouette of the trunk, revealing the growth circles and the unique character of the wood. This piece is part of the post-war brutalist movement which valued raw materials and organic forms. The three slightly inclined legs, carved from natural branches, robustly support the imposing top while bringing a touch of lightness to the whole. Unearthed in an old residence in the south of france, this versatile table will adapt to various uses in your interior: coffee table, end table, side table or even an original bedside table. Its sculptural presence will bring a natural and authentic dimension to a contemporary, vintage or even more classic interior. The table has retained its original patina, enriched by time which gives it these warm and deep hues. The wood has several natural cracks including a main crack of about 30 cm, characteristic of tree slices and evidence of the authenticity of the piece. As visible in the photos, the surface also has some signs of use and slight irregularities which contribute to the charm and character of this piece of furniture. The structure remains perfectly stable and functional. Dimensions maximum diameter of the top: 63 cm total height: 47 cm thickness of the top: 9 cm weight approximately 15 kg.
