Monumental Mid-Century Sommerso Murano Glass Vase by Flavio Poli for Mandruzzato, Italy, 1960s

Monumental mid-century modern sommerso glass vase designed by flavio poli for alessandro mandruzzato (murano, italy, 1960s). Very rare colours. The vase is made of thick green, orange, light blue and transparent glass. It is extremely decorative. Beautifully faceted glass. Mandruzzato is well-known for producing exceptional geometric and cubic-shaped art glass pieces. Height: 30 cm; width (largest point): 12 cm; depth (largest point): 12 cm. Quite heavy (3.1 kg). Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks. "sommerso" is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
