Polychrome Lunéville dessert plate, 1894

A flat plate from the French Lunéville factory, made of white glazed ironstone, featuring samples of green, blue, and orange applied around the entire rim and annotated in the center and around the edge. Used by potteries, this type of plate served to test and reference the glazing of a color according to the firing temperature and medium used, in order to reproduce it with the greatest accuracy. This plate, stamped on the reverse and with the application of colors dating from 1894, is in good overall condition. We note some losses in several color samples as well as a small chip on the reverse, which give it an authentic patina. Ideal as a wall decoration, alone or with other pieces, it will bring both a vintage and handcrafted touch to your decor.
