Léon parvillée, born on march 22, 1830 in paris and died in the same city on august 13, 1885, is a french architect, ceramist, sculptor and decorator. A student of viollet-le-duc, sculptor, decorator, commissioned by the ottoman government for the restoration of the city of brousse and then the turkish installations of the 1867 universal exhibition, a renowned orientalist ceramist and multiple medal winner, defender of polychrome architecture, researcher and art historian, léon parvillée (1830-1885) is an "eclectic" artist in every sense of the term.
