Cobalt blue decoration featuring sailing boats and maritime scenes all around the body framed by blue floral friezes. Domed lid, enhanced with a sculpted knob. The whole rests on its matching sealed plate. Stamped with the lion on the world map A. Lebacqz & M. Bouchart, mark of the Grand Établissements Céramiques, founded in 1892 on the banks of the Scarpe. This factory, a symbol of Northern craftsmanship, merged in 1923 with the Faïencerie de la Gare in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. Diameter including plate 24 cm, height 15 cm, diameter of container 16.5 cm. In beautiful vintage condition, very slight patina of time, lovely shine, slight natural crazing of the glaze (see photos). An object of character.
