Illuminated Relief Globe – Scan-Globe Model 3Z Gyroscopic (Denmark, Vintage 1974-1976) Stunning vintage illuminated globe from the famous Danish brand Scan-Globe (Made in Denmark), Model 3Z. A classic of Scandinavian design from the 1970s/1980s, perfect for enhancing a retro, industrial, or curiosity cabinet decor. Gyroscopic mounting (Double axis): This model features a double-axis rotation system. It pivots from left to right but also tilts up and down. This 360° freedom of movement allows for comfortable examination of every part of the Earth (notably the poles and the southern hemisphere). Double visual effect: When off, it displays a very detailed physical geographical map with the outline of ocean currents. When lit, it emits a soft, warm light that beautifully highlights the political cartography of the time. Beautiful graduated metal meridian arc resting on a round base. In generally good condition. The internal electric lighting works perfectly. The colours of the cartography remain very vibrant. Note a small section of the southern hemisphere and signs of wear on the base.
