Illuminated globe, Italy, 1980s

A lovely illuminated globe, reasonably sized to fit easily on a desk. It was made in Italy in the 1980s, specifically between 1976 (when Vietnam was no longer divided into North and South) and 1989 (when Burma was not yet called Myanmar and Leningrad had not yet been renamed Saint Petersburg in 1991). It is made of plastic. It is in good overall condition, fully functional, with a safe plug and switch. The markings are intact, but it does show some signs of age: the small plastic washer between the base and the globe has lost its chrome paint, there is some wear on the seam between the two hemispheres, and there are some minor abrasions or scratches on the base and the light bar. It measures 20 cm in diameter and 30 cm in total height.
